Copenhagen, 20th – 21st November 2023 – We look back at the CLASSICA plenary meeting, held at the University of Copenhagen. The meeting was hosted by our legal partner, CeBIL, who studies the legal and ethical implications raised by AI-assisted surgery in CLASSICA.

The two-day meeting was a vibrant hub of discussions, centering on Study 1, our observational study crucial to the advancement of CLASSICA and assessing usability and classification accuracy. Attendees discussed the technological developments of our AI-based clinical decision support system with demonstrations of the technology in action.

The meeting also addressed pressing legal considerations vital for integrating AI into clinical practice. These discussions underscored the importance of navigating legal landscapes effectively to harness AI’s full potential in cancer surgery. The CLASSICA project, with its focus on AI in cancer surgery, is poised to make a transformative impact, guided by an ethos of innovation and legal responsibility.
