Fortissimo Project is a Success Story

22. 8. 2018 / Industry We are proud that since July 2013 Arctur Ltd has been one of the core partners of the project Fortissimo. During the project more than 90 experiments were run and many success stories were produced. In October this year the project is comming to an end, but many outcomes stay.

The Fortissimo project is funded by European Commission within their research and innovation programmes with the aim to strengthen the global competitiveness of European industry.

While participating in this project Arctur benefited in many different ways. Besides a lot of knowledge and experience in a field of HPC, the company also gained a better visibility and a good reputation globally. In addition, in 2017 Arctur took over the role of Dissemination leader of the project.

Many European SMEs from different sectors are already using HPC technology successfully to the benefit their businesses. There are also some excellent Slovenian success stories from the last wave of experiments 2017/2018. Get inspired from them and find out about their challenges:

Emo Orodjarna Ltd.: Cloud-based-HPC optimisation of manufacturing processes

Magneti Ltd: HPC based high-resolution modelling of magnets

Arctur renovation of the Fortissimo Marketplace

One of the project outcomes was the Fortissimo Marketplace, which was launched in October 2016, it is provides permanent, simple and cost-effective access to the hardware, software and expertise required for computationally intensive simulations, via an on-demand, pay-per-use, ‘’one-stop-shop’’ model to all European businesses, in particular SMEs.

After evaluating several competitors, the project management has come to the conclusion, that it would be necessary to change the look and feel of the Fortissimo webpage. In this context Arctur was asked to redesign the website.

The renewed website was launched on the 19.04. 2018. Feel free to check it here.
